In 1980, he successfully passed the Arabic assistantship exam at the Erzurum Higher Islamic Institute and was appointed there. He later worked as an Arabic instructor at the Theology Faculties in Kayseri (1983) and Samsun (1987). In September 1988, he resigned from his position at Samsun Faculty of Theology to continue his work as an independent theologian, educator, and author.
