These big band arrangements of originals are written for 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones (one being a bass trombone), piano, bass and drums. A guitar part is included as an extra for most of them. A few also include extra percussion parts. You might find this useful. Please note that music on this page is more basic than on the other pages. "You love to say I'm always on your mind / I guess that I wasn't on it last night / Didn't get a text or nothing / Did you blackout or something?"

Tate McRae has shown willingness to engage with her fanbase's desires, and the Change.org petition demonstrates organized support for the track's release. Additionally, the trend of "vault tracks" and deluxe editions in the streaming era means that previously cut songs sometimes find new life years after their original recording sessions.

“truth is” sits uncomfortably—and beautifully—between these stools. It was likely written and produced during the same sessions with Ryan Tedder and Lostboy (the architects of “greedy”), but it rejects the maximalist confidence of its hit sibling.

This reality puts songs like "Truth Is" in a unique position. For fans, these leaks offer a thrilling, forbidden glimpse into the artist's creative process. For the artist, however, it represents a loss of control over their art. Despite this tension, the overwhelming reaction to tracks like "Truth Is" is one of admiration, further fueling demand for an official release. tate mcrae truth is unreleased from think la

Tate McRae’s unreleased track "Truth," surfaced in Think LA sessions, functions as a liminal moment in her catalog: it’s both continuation and quiet recalibration of the emotional-pop blueprint she’s built. Where her hits lean on crystalline hooks and diary-like hooks about heartbreak and self-knowledge, "Truth" trades immediacy for a slow-burn intimacy, privileging texture and narrative restraint over instant singalong payoff.

When RCA Records released on December 8, 2023, "truth is" was noticeably missing from the 14-track listing. Fans and music critics have pointed to a few distinct reasons for its omission: "You love to say I'm always on your

However, she has also admitted to “killing her darlings.” In a 2024 interview with Zane Lowe, she mentioned that she has a hard drive of nearly 200 unreleased songs. "Some of them are too sad. Some of them are too mean," she said. "Truth is," she added with a knowing laugh, "... truth is was probably too mean."

The song builds to an unflinching, repeated condemnation in the post-chorus: "Truth is you're a liar." This repetition solidifies the central theme of the track, moving from a place of confused hurt to one of definitive realization. It's a classic McRae narrative—detailed, personal, and resonating with a sense of authentic, youthful disillusionment.

. It is noted for its pop-trap sensibilities and has been frequently compared to her 2022 track "bad ones" by industry insiders. First Tease : April 26, 2023, via an Instagram caption. Audio Snippet It was likely written and produced during the

The song's chorus emphasizes the struggle between wanting to believe someone and knowing they are a liar:

The most intriguing production choice is the absence of a proper bassline. The low end is implied rather than felt, creating a hollow, aching void that mirrors the song’s thematic emptiness. When the chorus arrives, it doesn’t explode—it leans in . The drums add a rimshot, not a kick drum. It’s a restrained anthem, a catharsis that refuses to release.

The first edited version of the song leaked online on September 18, 2024, quickly followed by an unedited version of the track. This was part of a larger, unfortunate pattern for McRae. An article from Rolling Stone noted that she was "devastated" when her music leaked, stating, "There's nothing I can do". She faced a wave of leaks in 2024 and 2025, with numerous songs intended for Think Later and even her earlier work surfacing online. A Portuguese article from April 2025 listed “Truth Is” among the 20 leaked unreleased songs from her discography, alongside tracks like “Like That” and “Worst Lie”. The origin of these leaks remains unknown.
