Never flash firmware over Wi-Fi. If the wireless signal drops for even a second during the process, the router can be permanently damaged. Plug your computer directly into one of the LAN ports using an Ethernet cable.
If your DSL-3788 has an ISP logo (e.g., O2, TalkTalk, Swisscom, Deutsche Telekom), you need their version. Generic D-Link firmware will cause authentication failures and may disable VDSL sync.
You can update your firmware directly through the router's web interface. Access the Interface : Open a browser and enter
Perform a factory reset by pressing the reset button on the back for 10 seconds.
